Interior cab light

Post by DevonAid »

Can a (rhd) Devon camper be fitted with an extra interior cab light over the passenger seat?
I can feel a 'lump' behind the headlining on the Lhs where this extra lamp would go, and like to think there is a proper cut-out in the roof that has a blank covering it, but am loathed to pull the headlining down to find it can't - and then have a floppy headlining added into the bargain. Besides the metal curtain track is pop rivetted over it.
If it's a 'yes', I could even wire up a door switch to the passenger door as well - and transform the gloomy cab at night. Imagine being able to find things at night?
Any tips or (related) comments appreciated - many thanks!

yes!
i did mine, i didnt take the headlining down, i took a gamble and cut a slot there the blank was, took the blank out and made a small incision in the wires and added a connection for the interior light...... i also added a pillar switch and a wire from it to the switched neg .Job done

DISCLAIMER!
i am not resposable for you exploring your headlining and finding no hole, im merely telling you what i did with mine..........and adding that the chances are favourable.........

Lovely! Thanks for the tip. Blackpool Illuminations, here we come.
(accepted in that 'just general information and not construed as specific advice' type of way. Now, where's that 'No Win, No Fee' number that came through the door recently.....?)
Now to view the items for sale section for an interior light.
