goin start welding round windows,what guage steel do i need?

goin start welding round windows,what guage steel do i need?

eyup ducks,havent pulled a window out yet but want to get the steel ready in hand,will i need 16's or 18's guage.....i normally weld with 16's as its got some body to it and doesnt warp too easily....so might suite the flat panels...........all suggestions greatfuly recieved

16 gauge= 1.6mm

They sell sheets of bodywork type steel at bs supplies in burslem. 0.8mm I think.
