1.9 w/c smoke on start up

Post by robs5230 »

here i am again but bravely / stupidly the van is now my daily drive.

and getting more attention than the wife !!!!!!!!!!!

so her it is : on starting the van after about 8 hours or more being stood , using the correct starting procedure , i get smoke on start up with a missfire until the van is warm aftera couple of minutes !

what is this ?

i have tried kraus bond engine kit , a 2 part molybdenum base tablet and solution that is supposed to stop smoke and oil loss , as yet no real change othr than slightly quieter running.

the van seems to use / lose a bit of oil but deposits on the plugs perfect.

Check you oil breather pipe first. if it is crimped, use a loose spring to keep it open.

It could be a little bit of oil sitting on a valve stem and burning off when you start.

If it isn't using a lot of oil, don't worry. The wbx has very short guides and no seals.
