bubbles appearing in header tanker

Post by jebiga41 »

sorry guys another cooling question had a front pipe leak on the way back but fixed it seemed to go ok and also bled the system but air keeps accumulating in the header tank and the coolant level light keeps coming on and seems to be increasing in frequency is it something to do with my cylinder head as no leaks will try bleeding it again but would have thought it would have sorted itself out since also have to replace the exhaust manifold would that have anything to do with it ? Its a golf 1.6td don't know what the code is as cant find it think it might be under the diesel pump thanks paul

Paul, sounds like you may have a head gasket problem with the bubbles in the Header tank,,,,,,may be best to have it 'sniffer tested' to be sure.

Your local Auto engineer should be able to carry out such a test..

Regards

Fritz,,,,,,,

PS, 'Sniffer' tests for combustion gasses in the cooling system,,,,
