Hi,

Just had the same thing on my 1990 T25 Westi.

It failed the MOT on leaking power steering pipes.

The local garage reported that VW no longer supplied them.

So they cut out the worst bits and replaced them with rubber hose. Which means the power steering now works again and it passed the MOT!

All for £150 inclusive of MOT which I reckon is pretty good.

I suggest you try the same. Apparently it is a difficult job to change the pipes as they have to be threaded through which is very tricky.

I would like to get some new pipes in the long term if any one knows if they are available anywhere?

whats best - totally removing the old pipes and taking them to use as templates ? or measuring and taking dimensions ? do they do a "while you wait" service ?
