Thermostat housing

Does any one know what size the 2 bolts that attach the complete housing to the engine are.
I think they are about 6 - 8 mm allen key heads.

I put them (M8 x 2 different lengths) in the envelope to you ..... didn't I ? ... If not they'll be there next week

Yes mate got them and they will be going on when I can get the old buggers off.
Lovely job too, the 4 for the top housing are on the replacement ready to go back on.
Its the old ones I am asking about.

They're 6mm Allen head from memory ... but will have decayed into whatever size you need to drag the bu&&ers out

Thems is orrible and if there was ever a place for stainless bolts it's there, guess the VW accountants didn't think so.

Well that was fun not, got all but one nuts off and the sod would'nt budge so of to the garage tomorrow to see if they can do it hopefully be ready for the weekend so we can go camping.
