engines???

Hi can anyone help me? I'm looking to replace the 1.6td engine in my van it's an 1986 t25 i need something a bit more fuel economical and it has to fit into the engine bay so the cover fits into place.
I'm also thinking about a LPG conversion later on so that would have to be thought out as well.

As far as LPG goes that would be for a petrol engine.
and a common diesel replacement is n AAZ 1.9
