Alternator Brush Packs

Are the brush packs all the same or does this differentiate a 65a from a 90a alternator ? I ask 'cos a very nice man gave me a knackered Bosch alt. at the weekend with pack # 1197 311 005 with a fair amount of brush remaining.

Kev recently swapped the brush pack off his 45amp one onto the 90amp one i gave him and all seems well.
2.1 DJ running on carb and LPG.
