campin in Cornwall

Post by benico »

We are going to Cornwall for a couple of weeks at the end of july.We are booked in to a campsite in St Ives for the first week. My girlfriend thinks we should book in somewhere for the second week now as she thinks we wont be able to get in anywhere - I would rather wait and just see what we can find when we get down there.

What do you think we should do (we normally don't mind 1/2 nights in a lay by but are unsure if you can get away with it down there) (also we have a 3 yr old mini-me with us)

Thanks

Hi
once school holidays start most places tend to demand a week's booking at a time. Especially if its a popular area.
Tbh I'd do some research now and see what T&C the sites around the area have for high season.
I've heard good things about Ruthern Valley campsite. Haven't been myself yet tho. Sorry can't link at the mo but if you google it you should find it.
Have fun. I'm in croyde today with my 2yr old mini me. Its raining and blowing a gale and I'm glad for my van!

Hi
Just booked a week in cornwall in the school holidays, first place we phoned were fully booked.
The second place had only one place left so its worth booking, if it just saves you going from 1 campsite to the next looking for space.
