Hi All,
Can anyone tell me how often it is reccomended to get the Wesfalia fitted underfloor gas tank checked for safety purposes (the one for cooking, fridge)? Looking at the paperwork that came with the van, all in German & I don't speak German(!!), it suggests that it was done every couple of years in Germany as part of the German MOT......correct??????
Looks like mine was last checked about 4 years ago. If it needs to be done again does anyone know where I can get this done near Stafford and how much it may cost?
All help gratefully received.
Matt

In Germany they check the tank is still in life.
This is part of the main MOT equivalent.
They will also take into account the condition, but the main thing is the life which I think is ten years and is stamped on the tank somewhere.
If you have your gas hard plumbed in you need a gas MOT as well.

Hi, I have the same problem. You could try a caravan repair/service centre. Alternatively, try a corgi gas man, i guess the issue there though is access, he can no doubt check the stuff, but can he get to all the pipes and stuff?
I have only had my van 1 year and not had mine checked. I have a carbon monoxide tster though, and I switch the gas off at the stopcock at night. It is on my (long) list of things to do!
