Reimo roof bed...

Post by REDVAN DOC »

Good morning,

I need to add a single bed to my T25 Reimo roof - outwardly very similar to the Joker roof. The van top cut-out is 44 ins. square - aft of which is a further 44 ins. of bare van top (under the Reimo roof). Any off the shelf jobs ? Remo doesn't feature anything in their catalogue as far as I can see.
Home brew solutions appreciated,regards,

Andrew Woodhall, Heckmondwike.

It is just a matter of placing two pieces of wood down the side of the hightop, (effectively in the gutter) which you can glue in with sikaflex or expanding foam, the height of the wood is sufficient that a board placed on the top of the roof will be supported in the middle, by the curve of the roof and at the sides by the planks. Then trim panel to fit to form base of bed, and two further panels that will form the bed over the hole in the roof, supported by your two beams of wood. Then get 2" memory foam cut to make mattress. The boards and foam then all stack on the permanent rear section. You can strengthen the pull out boards with U profile aluminium which clips over the ends of the boards.
I don't think that there are any off the shelf solutions, as each one is made to measure and in reality is very simple, and cheap to make.
