1.9 AAZ font pulley bolt

Post by Snag20 »

Getting on well with 1.6T/D to 1.9 AAZ T/D conversion.
As recommended I am changing the front crank pulley and using a new bolt.

As I have no manual what torque should I do this up ?

I think Ive read on here 60 n/m then a further 1/4 turn but cant find it now I need the info !!!

cheers

thanks Simon,

I found the original thread by Cabs---AAZ timing belt pulley-- in Alternative engine section, your post advises 60n/m then 90 degrees.

Got new pulley/bolt today should it be either 60 or 90n/m then 90 degrees-- ????

cheers

confused or what ?

Chilton for 1.6 Stretch bolt 66 lbs then 1/2 turn
VwDiesel net 77 lbs then 1/4 turn

VW Caddy forum 90 n/m then 90 degrees
This forum either 60n/m then 90 dgrees OR 90 n/m then 90 degrees

HELP ---dont want to get it wrong ???

Also my crank pulley seems to have a layer of rubber between the inner and outer bits of the ribbed pulley for the water pump/alternator belt.
Is this normal or an anti vibration attempt by VW ???

90 plus 90, the 60 one must have been a mistake.
