Broken plug on my electronic dizzy - any advice please
Hi
Messing about with the van before heading to bus stopover tomorrow and I have noticed that the small black electrical connecting plug on the side of the electronic distributor is broken, someone has fixed it in the past
Photos below but not great, anyway i slapped on a small bit of araldite and a cable tie
Im wondering if I need a new dizzy?

If things get really bad
Whack a cable tie around the dizzy and hold the plug on, stop the wires fraying and wiggling about.

Cheers Simon
I have put a tie around it. The repair kit is expensive, how much is a new dizzy?

If you cant repair it the other option is to replace the hall sender in the dizzy which comes with the connector, not cheap though.

vacuum advance or not ? if not its MV, if vacuum its a DJ. Keith I have both in stock, nearly new and not so but complete and working. Like Simon says cable tie remove vibration problem. I had a hall unit failure on mine destroyed the dizzy and I had a hell of a job finding an MV one at the time, managed to get hold of a second broken one and made a complete broken one and exchanged with Bosch - they are well over a ton if they are still available, but also over time tracked down some s/h units and carry a new one in the van just in case.
