electrolux rm2200 fridge. Anyone else got one??

Post by Anonymous »

Cant seem to find much about these. Its a 3 way that has a electronic ignition switch and a similar switch for 12v battery. Neither of them work on this one. Is it poss lack of voltage not getting to it somewhere?? Seems odd neither work though the 240v works a treat

:?

Any advice ta

Does it look like this?

Is your Zig 12v switch on? My electronic ignition won't work without it. The 12v switch on the fridge will not do anything unless the engine is running.

in that photo where the ignition switch is ours has the same switch but it says 12v on it. next to it is a green switch that illuminates that says 240v and on the opposite end it has the ignition switch

The 12 volt cooling and the 12 volt ignition should have seperate supplies.
The cooling switch should only work when the engine is running.(12v supply via ignition controlled relay)
The ignition for the gas can suffer from several problems.
Check the 12 v supply - connected to the blue & black wires on top of the fridge (think blue is negative ).
The switches are prone to corrosion - switching on & off rapidly for a minute or two can revive them ! .
The position of the connections on the switch is important, make notes if disconnecting. The switch should be marked 110v, if it isnt it wont flash.
If the HT lead to the burner is shorted to earth or there is sh*t on the burner this can stop the ignitor running.
And of course , the ignitor pack can fail as well !

i have what i think you are describing........

look
here

as the man above says, the 12v supply for the ignighter is from the leisure battery, the 12v for the fridging when driving is from the main battery via a relay...... the element for the 12v is seperate from the mains element.

I had a bit of trouble with my mains temp control earlier this year, it turned out that the actual control was dirty, and i cleaned it and solved the problem

the power for the igniter maybe switched through you leisure control panel.
the earthing could well be your problem, the ignighter and the 12v element control share the neg connection.
