Which waste tank fits?
Hi all,
Want to fit an small underslung wastetank. I don't do long trips, so not sure I really need a big one - it is more just for the convenience / tidiness of not sticking an external can underneath (they get blown away!)
Does anyone know which CAK tank fits in the space between the chassis rails? It needs to be very narrow and shallow, but can be as long as you like.
Alternatively, I might try fitting a bracket for a small (10 l) plastic can for when I occasionally need one. It could then just be whipped out and emptied when needed. Anyone else done this?
Cheers.

Hi Alex, most folk either don't bother OR use a caravan external tank on the floor under the van .... great till you drive off and run over it spraying 'grey water' and remains of baked beans etc etc all over the nice white caravan next to you
Not that I'VE ever done that of course
Ian.

waste tank
Alex, I've done exactly this on my camper. Letting even grey water drain onto the ground when camping is unacceptable pollution to me and will get you kicked off some campsites. Putting out a portable waste container every time seemed a fuss and you have to store it somewhere.
I used a CAK "BBS" tank custom fitted with inspection/cleaning hatch, entry and drain tap. I then slung it next to the sink drain pipe supported by two stainless bands and some stainless hook bolts fastened to the chassis rails. It works well and I either drain it over a grill at campsites who have such or drain it into the lower bit of the portaloo, which we always have anyway.
Here's a carp picture of a bit of it! (nice one of the fuel pump tho!)

Thanks everyone.
Discharging on to ground never an option, I use one of those black 20l waste containers, but when wild camping I don't like to have anything outside (less discrete). At the top of Scotland it even blew away!
As Keith says - it is the faff of putting it out, and worst still is storing it - who wants a dirty waste tank on their bed?
I think a small low cost CAK tank like Keith's BB2 seems a cost effective approach.
Cheers.

Donald - you can download the CAK brochure from their website here, in sections so it's not too big. It has sketch pics and dimensions etc.
