door handle???

Post by dirtygertie »

please accept my apoligies if this is a really stupid question

is there a difference between a lhd & rhd sliding door handle? is there any reason that a unit from a lhd cannot be used on a rhd van (they look pretty symetrical to me :? )

I've seen one for sale on 'tinternet, but its from a vanagon in the US & so would be for the wrong hd..

thanks

I can't see why not, they both have the same square drive fitting in the door.

But ........

Yep works fine - have a RHD on my LHD slider. Key lock just turns other way.

I had a long handle for an early LHD door. It did not fit the RHD slider.
The sliding part of the lock is offset it is not symetrical. It may of course be different for a later short handle!

There's a scrappy near Leamington Spa that scraps only bugs and transporters. He's got loads of t25's lying about the place. Give him a bell - he might remove one and pop it in the post for you if you grovel enough

His names Malcolm and the yard's called 'Bug Shack'
