hi folks has any one changed the piston rings on a 1y ? is it a engine out job ?
my vans smokin like hell it used 3.5 litres of oil goin to devon the other week so its time to sort it out

Rings can be changed with engine in situ, once all the external offerings have been removed along with the manifolds and sump......

I'd imagine it would be easier and cheaper to just to change the engine.

Thats unless you can skim a head yourself!

i work at a scrap yard so i can get engines all day long i thought if i rebuild it i know its a good un i,ll give it a bash n see how thing go
