electrical problem

Can anyone help my van has an intermttent problem,on a 1988 1.6 td #sometimes the oil light battery light glow plug and water temp light and refuse to work (you can see when you switch on) the indicators dont work as well as the temp guage and the fuel guage, then after a while suddenly they all start to work. The indicators on the side of the van work ok when the lights go out!
could anyone help or shed light on the problem

have you checked the multi pin plug on the back of the clocks?? sounds like a poor connection to me. worth giving it a check.

mine still does this occasionally too. with mine it is the wiring leading to the socket + I think the pcb is poor, as I didn't have problems so often when I changed the pcb to a spare one.

it might also be worth checking the earth crowns behind the fuse box.
