Pull out sun awnings
I'm thinking of a sun awning. Narrowed it down to an Omnistor or a Fiamma. Any comments? I have a front raising roof. Many thanks, Deke.

Length depends on the kind of roof you have and where you will fix it.
I have a high top, so have the entire length of the van to play with (I have a 2.3m as it was available on eBay, but a 2.6 would just fit).
Not sure how / what height you would fit it to a poptop.
It certainly is easy to use - does the same job as an F45 or Omni 2000.

Just fitted a 2.55m Caravanstore to my van using a length of awning rail.
Great bit of kit, so easy to use. Keeps the sun and even light rain off your slider area. Worth every penny.
Got mine off ebay for £75 brand new
. It came from Brownhills the motorhome dealer at Newark. I've just had a look on ebay for some more but can't see any listed from them
Might be worth giving 'em a bell to see if they have any more.

The idea was to have instant shade and similar pack up time. I thought the caravanstore might take longer and how does it travel?. We have no room inside. As ex tenters we have tended to shy away from anything that takes time particularly as we do a lot of one nighters. Thanks for all your comments-keep'em coming. By the way the Cak Tanks offer is for collection only. Deke.

A word of caution!
We bought a caravanstore awning last year and really rate it.
A freak gust of wind blew the whole lot over the roof of the van when camping in Dorset last week.
Both the awnings legs snapped at the top.
Luckily no damage to the van.
A quick internet search when back at home revealed these guys

Who posted me a couple of replacement leg tops pronto. Awning now fixed.
Moral? guy rope it down if you want to keep it intact and don't leave it up if you suspect big winds! ( Not the lager & curry kind

Figure of 8
deke wrote:Does it work to use the figure of 8 awning chanel clipped to the gutter as supplied by JK anyone? Thanks, Deke.
Don't think so. The caravanstore has two rafters that tension the awning and they would put too much pressure on a figure of 8 rail, forcing the awning away from the van.
