Give us a clue...!

Post by gazza&linz »

We took the new Komet out last Saturday to the seaside (West Wittering) just to familiarise ourselves with things.
Everything seems to be in working order but have a question re the waste water tank - we can't find it, even tho the instructions say you can get to it to add disinfectant etc!!
Is it possible there isn't one? When we let water down the sink it just came out of a hose from underneath the vehicle.
Please be patient with us if we've just asked a really stupid question!
Our biggest concern is that we are taking the van to the Glastonbury festival and (naturally) they're not keen on waste water going straight into the ground!
All advice gratefully received

I think you've answered your own question! Maybe they were fitted as an option rather than as standard on the Komet, or a previous owner has removed it for some reason?

For Glastonbury, just put a container on the ground that will catch the waste water coming out of the pipe and then empty it somewhere else, as mentioned in the Western Isles thread:

As Tony said you have answered your own question, no waste water tank on Autohomes, fresh water tank under rear seat.

I agree with Big Tam. I looked at loads of Komets when I was buying a camper and none had a waste water tank. I use a bucket on sites and nowt if I'm in the middle of nowhere.....it's only dirty water and detergent's bio-degradable these days.

......everybody. I'm sure we gave the people parked next to us a good laugh anyway - down on our hands and knees peering under the Komet!

Bigherb - good waste container - thanks for that - will definitely get one of those.

I'm sure a few other things will crop up - it's great to know people actually read and respond to these queries - the 80-90 club is a great find.
