Strange excelereation

Post by ADO »

Hi there , I'm new to the site but here goes .
I seem to have a problem with exceleration on my 1900 petrol engine.
It seems sluggish when i press down on the peddle then kicks in like a rocket as i press down after half way to the floor. ANY IDEAS !!!

welcome!!

Go and introduce yourself in general chat.

can't help with the acceleration problem...other than to suggest that you check your cable isn't too slack...ie the first half of pedal travel isn't really doing anything other than take up excess slack.

Hope this helps

could be transfer jet blocked

it squirts a jet of neat fuel into the venturi

does the engine pick up ok if the pedal is depressed slowly?
