1986 T25 Door mirrors

Post by whitley »

The standard door mirrors on my T25 are naff. Any ideas how I can change/modify. Passenger mirror doesn't twist in enough to see down side of van when parking.

It should be able to fold flat to the van

take it off and see if it needs some grease?

Just went out in rain to have a look. Not like mine after all. Mine are horizontal mirrors not vertical as in picture. probably not original then

The nearside mirror should have a convex glass which gives a wider angle of view. Most replacements are flat glass unless you buy from VW.

My mirrors didn't fold flat - wouldn't budge at all.
Found from ermie571 that there is a nut and bolt underneath you can loosen off a little (have to take off the door to find the nut and bolt). They fold in nice now. Take a look at yours?

Yeah but as soon as you hit a strong headwind/truck wind blast/go over 50mph they will prob move... they need to be tight enough to not move easily and loose enough to be able to adjust...

Hence why I fitted Corrado mirrors that stayed put and gave normal rear vision like you'd get on a car! BUT the big factory mirrors are the best so far...

Tried 4 types of mirrors so far and the boggo standard ones are the worst!!!

You will probably find that the left hand mirror is on the right hand side and vice versa... this is how the mirrors were on my van when I bought it.. the mirrors look more like car mirrors. They should be upright like in kevtherevs picture which is of the right hand mirror...

good luck
