unless the washer is knackered heat it up with a blow torch or similar till it glows red let it cool down naturaly and it will be as good as new again!! may only be a few pence saving but hey all adds up!!

Hi,
I am just about to do an oil and filter change for the first time and have also the forementioned copper washer in hand from GSF. I am just going to fit it as they say.
Can I ask the benefit of doing so many oil changes (8 in 2 years?). I reckon I do 1000 miles max a year in the van and hope 2 god I wouldn;t have to do that many. I was expecting once a year at the rate of miles I do.
The writeup in wiki is fine and thats what I'll follow. I just hope I am able to catch any oil when I release the sump nut and mostly the oil filter. I was going to use an old basin and transfer to the now empty new oil carton to take to the dump and dispose of in the oil drums. I have a habit of overtightening things but will just nip up the sump and look for drips. Seems wierd that you only hand tight the oil filter but I will do that too and again have a look. I guess it's all clear after your first time
Ciao
Russell.

with such low mileage I would do min of 2 oil changes a year.. becuase all the condensation that biulds up over time...
you will see the filter really doesnt need to be wrung up super tight.. prob touching and then about 1/4 turn..
