Fuel filter

Post by Pepperami »

Just got back from Devon the bus was dying going up hills and at speed. Stopped at South Mimms services to check it out. Fuel filter was full of what looked like dirty water. Took it off and emptied it and filled with petrol. All was great after this any ideas as what to do next.

As long as the tank has got no other holes letting water in, either drop the tank and flush it out or fit a water trap and larger filter and check it regularly intill the contaminants have gone.

Changing the fuel filter was the bast 50p I've ever spent.

Mine flies up hills in 2nd gear now ;)

It really must have been blocked to show the performance increase it did!

might be worth carrying a spare filter??? Did or have you run the tank level down to almost empty recently ???

Hi james. yes we ran it to very nearly empty to Brixham £60 fill. Then filled up for the Journey home which is when we were having the problems.
