How do I identify my Weber carb?

Post by HertsPete »

Hi,

I've found out that my carb has a sticky choke. So, I thought I'd do some searching around to see how to attack the problem (clean up the carb, consider manual choke, etc???).

But I guess as a starting point I need to know exactly what carb I've got. I know it's a twin choke Weber but that's all. I can't see any identification on it (other than "Weber") that tells me any more details.

How should I go about identifying precisely what it is??

Thanks

Pete

That to me looks like a weber 34 DAT - I had one fitted it to my 1.9 DG, but found it a bit to harsh when 2nd barrel comes in - that was on a camper though - smooth ride all the way for me so rebuilt original 2e3 now spot on. Hope this helps :)

Cheers for the reply. It is, indeed, a 34 DAT. I've now tracked down the info I need to adjust the automatic choke (which wasn't actually attached but now is)

My van is a transporter & seems to run fine now (fingers crossed)

Cheers

Pete
