the previous owner saw fit to weld the exhaust to the turbo studs when they did a repair job on the exhaust pipe flange. What's best to do with that? I can't see a way of working on it under the van so I'm thinking remove the turbo, grind, saw, drill to remove the exhaust, then think about a way of removing the studs.
I'm strictly amateur so is this a job I should pay someone for?
is it better to look out for a replacement turbo? How much do they go for?
cheers

The 1.6td turbo exhaust turbo inlet on my other engine had some of the studs u/s.I removed the turbo with the exhaust down pipe. There are four expensive bolts to undo from the manifold.Once you have got it off you can work on it.You could drill out the old studs to re tapp or try stud extractors. Its a job that can be done.
