Water proofing awnings..

The canvass awnings I`ve had before have taken water proofing really well but the Traveller 3 I`ve got at the moment needs sorting and the roof is polyester !!
The question is can you use the waterproofing liquid on this???

i would have thought polyester was waterproof??????? but after a qiuk search found that silicone based stuff is best heres a link

my auntie just used this stuff on her JK awning which was leaking like a colander last year. seems to have done the trick and saved them having to buy a new awning
