The guides that attach the release mechanism bar and lever are no longer secured to the plywood back due to the screw holes becoming worn and oversize (the screws were kept in place by matchsticks by the previous owners!). I have seen some examples where the mechanism has been removed and replaced by bolts on either end of the seat. Anyone any ideas to resolve this (it must be fairly common) or am I faced with the less than satisfactory bolt job? Priority must be to secure the seatback securely (two kids to cherish) and satisfy any MOT reguirements (if any). Lap belts are fitted and I am aware of the postings regarding the fitting of three point belts (which is another story.....).
Thanks in advance.....
