Oil pressure warning

Post by SyncroRich »

Engine 2.1 dj.

When I turn the ignition on the alternator light comes on and the coolant light flashes for a few seconds like normal but the oil pressure warning light some times flashes on briefly and sometimes not at all.

I have just finished rebuilding the engine and haven't got it started yet but it turns over well. I am just a little concerned about the oil pressure sensor not working.

Any advice?

Rich.

Pull the wire off the sensor and put it straight to earth. If the light comes on it's the sensor which is duff.

You have 2 senders one under the engine between the pushrod tubes and one near the waterpump..

disconnecting the one near water pump should give a buzzer above 2000rpm.. earth it and the buzzer will not sound...
