Strange diesel exhaust question.

Post by maddog334 »

Hi All
Can anyone tell me if this is correct, I have a 1.6 na diesel (which i have just fitted in place of a petrol) and inside the silencer box there appears to be alot of loose wire , it looks like barbed wire without the barbs if that makes any sense, it is from about a third into the silencer and is visible inside the tail pipe??? it doesnt look correct to me , but i have never looked into a diesel exhaust before, also the exhaust note is very boomy inside the van at certain revs not sure if this is normal either.
any advice would would be appreciated.
otherwise it is running really well having just completed 400miles going to plymouth then to onto newquay and home.
Many Thanks
Martin

Could it be the carbon fibres from inside the box itself?

its definetly wire the thickness of barbed wire etc , I can see the baffle tube which looks intact as far as i can see untill its full of this wire stuff, is it straight through normally like a cherry bomb then?
