Campsites in France

Hi, I'm planning on a 3 week trip over to the west coast of France in August, not sure exactly which part yet, probably southern Brittany and further south. Can anyone reccommend some campsites that are child friendly & near the coast? I have looked on the Alan Rogers website but most seem to be huge, too organised and a bit theme park like (am I being too picky????). Any help & advice would be good.

We're also planning a trip to France at the end of June, there's a cool camping France book out which we bought, here's a couple of sites from the book; www.camping-indigo.com also try www.bois-des-ecureuils.com or www.sables-d-argent.com , municipal camp sites are always the cheapest, and the facilities are pretty good, a canoe trip down the Dordogne or the Ardeche is great fun and the kids will love it , www.campinglecapeyrou.com is a truly lovely campsite with views of the chateau on the hill side.

We're also going that way in July but only as far as Angouleme for a wedding then working our way back up to St Malo over a couple of weeks.
The Indigo sites look lovely for big sites and reasonably priced too. Could you let us know what that book's called please?
Anybody know any other good sites in Brittany?
This was a great site in the Vendee about 15 years ago when I used to go with my mates!

If you head to the rhys peninsular they have aire de camping all around the coast some are just grotty car parks but some are good (no services though and you can only spend 2 nights).
Last September we used camping de la ferme just south of Sarzeau very child friendly with bouncy castles,climbing frames, table tennis and the lady who runs it speaks perfect English. There are plenty of cycle tracks around, plenty of beaches all around the peninsular, castle de succinio to look at. Well anyway we had fun.

Thanks for all the replies, they have been very useful. I have seen a book on the internet advertised called Cool Camping France which might be useful. I will let you all know what it's like when I've bought it. Matt

Yep! that's the book, there's also an english version of the Aries de camping, it's always been in french before, and hard to understand, even thought the girlfriend speaks a little french.
