ets supercharger
my friend gave me one of these so i thought i would see if the thing would work. The website claims allsorts 10-15% power increase etc etc.
well on my 1.9 dg with 67k miles its unbelievable. With the standard air filter it was good with a free flow filter my bus just takes off i have switched it so it works only at full throttle. I have 225 55 16's on the rear and they spun. so what i want to know is this to good to be true or am I on a slippery slope to doom?

hi simon i was teasing about spinning wheels but there definantly a big difference to my van i dont know how as your right about the hair dryer quip. logic says that it should'nt work but it seems to.
surely it cant just be the greater volumn of air making its way through.
Ive read all the info on all makes of car forums all sane idiology says it bsht
I can only give my findings
1 ran van with no airbox fitted no recognisable difference
2 ran van with ets thing and standard air box with standard clean filter and swithed to work at just before full throttle. noticeable difference.
3 running van with ets charger and free flow filter with switching at 80% of throttle . the van pulls much harder dont know how but it does.
I would dyno test it for the hell of it if i could afford it.
There definantly seems to be a surge you can feel

Mmmmn......Faith v Science.... The age old argument rears its head in 80-90. Is this a classic case of the placebo effect on the believer? would the sceptic only accept positive dyno results from a test at which he was present? am I talking bollox?
Ans: Maybe, Possibly, Probably

trust me i am the biggest sceptic
i only tried this as it was free. All science says that more fuel bigger ports higher compression free flow exhaust is the only way to increase power.
but this thing seems to work I wish i had it fitted at buglovin as there was a rolling road to test it on.
if any one wants to ride in my van an see for themselves ie compare standard setup to this ets thing they are more than welcome
when i tested the fan which is mounted within a silicon shaft in my garage there was enough air flow to lift the fan of the floor and i could not stand it back up surely any assistance to air flow has to help?????????

the cfm on that tiny fan wont be enough to do diddly squat, tthe web site says lots but has no factual based info online ie dyno info,, there IS one sort of electric supercharger that works out there http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0406t ... index.html
if you read that you will see why all the ebay and bullsh*t fans called superchargers are nothing more than wasted money imho

in reply to simons comments
no change in idle as fan only operated at 80% of throttle
no change in servo operation even at full throttle 80mph+ tested tonight
and yes i have inadvertantly got to close to the induction pipe when the engine was running. surely this suction is so strong as the pistons are pulling the air inwards on the induction stroke thats a lot of capacity to fill any assitance pushing air aswell as the pistons pulling has to help.
As to other suggestions about leaning of the the carburation surely the venturi and jets have fuel pulled through by the pull of air frm the induction stroke so any pushed air can only be of assistance?
