Hey Brid I found you!!
I was wondering if it could be replaced with a standard 12 socket (cigarette type)??
I have a plug for it. Its a din type plug which you have to wire onto your 12v appliances. Bit of a pain!!

- I think this is the type, they some in 8A, 15A or 16A.

That be a hella plug, have a look at this...

Hella adaptor, 4th from bottem looks a good bet. If the ciggy lighter socket your useing has one of them funny removable adapotor bits on the end just remove that and you'll have your very own hella plug already.
Could also make your own adaptor from ciggy sockets from maplin but I'm not sure they do hella plugs - seem uncommon in UK outside the truck/CB world - good plugs though, much better than ciggy sockets.

I ve got a westy joker import - theres a small socket on the passenger side dash - would that be a hella socket ?- bout the size of a 20p coin.

Yes, and you can get the plugs in Maplins although they are quite expensive !
