Changing miles to match kilometers on speedo.

Post by totallyconfused »

Hi - I have an imported Aircooled t25. I have just changed the speedo over. the original speedo was in kilometers and I now have one with miles on it. Is there any easy way to adjust the mileage to tally with the old original kilometer readings? It looks like if you could remove/unclip the grey sprockets from the counter you could turn the dials - but I did not want to break it!!!

Cheers - Christian.

It is possible.
it's called "clocking"
To be fair, I'm a bit sad like that and when I imported my Atlantic I did exactly just that, only at the time I didn't have a trip counter speedo, when I found one I did it again.

Yeah... it's a bit of a no no but I can't see a problem clocking to the 'equivelent' miles reading.
As long as you declare to any new owner that you cannot gaurantee the displayed figure. Or you tell them the old speedo readings before the swap etc etc.
