oil pressure light
hi i am a new member! iam having problems with a flashing oil pressure light i have had the pressure switch changed and am assured that there are no problems with the oil pressure she starts and runs ok a little rich but otherwise ok what can the matter be please!! is this an easy problem to fix.

Hi blueghost - there is tons on this in the forum.....use the search button up there .....buzzer of doom is good to search for too.
Also - to understand how the sytem works, try the wiki - also up there.^^^
If I was you, go grab a beverage of the favoured variety....and sit back, click and read.
Als - chaps will need engine type, age, mileage etc etc that will help diagnose the problem.

Short answer is the light can give a false positive. ie tell you your pressure is low when it isn't. The quickest way is to take it to somebody with a oil pressure tester and get them to check the actual oil pressure in the engine. the long wway is to replace your sensors and check your wiring for breaks etc. Also fill in your profile with your location maybe someone nearby can help.
