Recommendation please

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic for my t25 1.6 td. She's struggling to start from cold as well as being a bit smokey on start up, also the glow plug light stays on for what seems ages. Someone within 50 mile radius of Swindon would be ideal.

MAD (Motoring and Driving) in Lawrence Hill, Bristol. (0117 9555405). Specialists in air cooled Dubs mainly it seemed. About 50 miles from Swindon.

Only used them a couple of times as moved to Portsmouth soon after getting van. But friend I bought the van off recommended them to me. Seemed very fair when I went to them.

Used VWCity a couple of times. Were next to the Copnor bridge, though I gather they have just moved. Seem a friendly bunch and are always very busy which is perhaps a good sign. I gather there is another place that does loads of old VW's as well which I may look into.
