how do I know the ampage of the alternator?

we have to get a new alternator belt, but how do i know what ampage the alternator is (so as we buy the right belt)?

I've looked on the alternator and it says is A738 Autostart and ther is a batch number that is half worn off. There's nothing on the wires coming off the alternator either...?

In case it helps:
our van is a 1.9 petrol auto rh '88 caravelle

What colour is the label? i have a 90amp and it's RED, i think 45amp ones are Green.

the label is silver or white - definitely not any colour though....
