Hi all, great Forum by the way. not to tech minded meself so here to share and learn
I'm looking at buying a 2.1 watercooled autosleeper t25 and getting it converted to LPG. its an E reg. I spoke with local company who are lpg registered. They are happy to do it but mentioned that as an older van the conversion would have to use the carburetor and this might lead to backfires. Are they being cautious or is it a real concern. he went on to say that good starter maintenance should minimise this occurring.
also any advice on tank size would be appreciated and do you think i would have any probs insuring after the conversion?
many many thanks in advance

im sorry, but yor local convertor is talking crap.......
there is no truth in the statement "that it will have to be on a carb" because it wont have to be, when you are switched to LPG you are not using the petrol injectors, its like they are not even there... however they do work very well with the DG carb, several of us are using the 2.1 with the DG carb, and have been for thousands of miles.......
my guess is he dont know enough about these vans , and has opted for the open loop system, with the carb...........
talk to gasure......
