New member....can you have too many Syncros / vw's

Post by LLOYDIE »

Hi all,
This is my first time on the forum.....I have 2 syncros....a 16" Kombi and a Syncro Carravelle ( and a Mexican Beetle). Wife wants one to go (she drives a T25 double slider. I love them all, but what should go if any??
Wife says Carravelle should go, but seeing as though I have just bought a Westy interior, this might be a shame!!
What do you think out there?
Would love to go on the Off Road weekends but need to get some off road practise first....chicken!!!

Anybody know of any rear door ladders and spare wheel carriers going....except the ones from Canada?? I do like his quality though.

Hope to hear from you.

Lloydie

Best place to come and practice is at one of the events.. you dont have to do anything you dont want to.. and with all the syncro experienced people, plenty of guidance...

As for getting rid... Can you justify each for a purpose?
I have a Doka syncro and that gets used for off roading and general fetching and carrying of stuff as well as some long distance when needed. the 2wd Caravelle is 8 seats and serves as airport runner and also been used for distance runs and trips out etc etc.., the Audi 100 has been mainly for hitting the motorways and lots of distance work (faster.. and more economical..)
If she wants something easy to drive and cost effective then get here a small car...

Wife's not the problem!!?? I know in my heart that one has to go really. I have lots of ideas but not enough time! I love my beetle and lots of money spent which I will never get back.... Love the caravel too but not used at mo. The 16" is my works van...brilliant but ...a works van!
Anyway will make my mind up before BVF...maybe put an ad on here.
Anybody need a Syncro Carravel 7 seater LHD? Tempt me??

Good to speak to you all.

One way of looking at it Lloyd, is which one could most easily be replaced ?

There's certainly a lot of LHD Syncro caravelles in the world, relatively speaking, less 16" Syncros and even less perfect wives

So looks like that Caravelle's up for grabs soon?

I just sold my LHD Caravelle syncro & am keeping my lowered twin slider diesel coach.

2 doors are better than one, that's for sure.

Although I drove the sync for the last time yesterday & I know I will miss it...

It all depends on what type of driving you will do. It looks like I will be doing a few long road trips this year, so makes sense for me. Diesel engine is far better on gas.

(The Mrs never liked the Sync, but likes the Coach, so that played a hand).
