2.1 w/c thermostat question

How many seals should there be when fitting new thermostat? Did it a couple of weeks ago, and JK drawing showed the seal on other side to the Haynes drawing.... should there be 2, cos I've got a small leak?

I see what you mean about diagram in JK cat. stat goes in first followed by o ring--use a new one---
