fridge technical problem? help

Post by billy739 »

rm212 electrolux fridge, been sat in my garage as a spare for 12months.
fitted it to the van last month, spun it round, let it settle ect.

plugged the 240 , was cooling within minits, switched to 12,drove about , parked up gas on , no problem all weekend.

went away this weekend, 240 , super cooled quickly, 12v driving super cool, but when switched to gas nothing. fridge comes back to room temp!

lights on gas quickly , adjustable flame as per temp setting, but no cooling at all. was on 2 days ,nothing!
apply 12 v and starts cooling within minits!

is it bin time or is this a problem that can easily be fixed?

Jets need cleaning, your flame will not be big enough or hot enough to start the evaporation of the liquid/gas, take the burner off the bottom and clean out completely, the tube that runs from the control valve to the burner will have a filter in it, blow out with compressed air, if you do not have one then fit it without the filter they cause flow problems, looks like a cigarette filter. Hope this helps.
