VANFEST - CALLING ALL CREWCABS

VANFEST - CALLING ALL CREWCABS

Unless you are the (very) proud owner of an early Binz Crewcab this year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Hanover built CREWCAB vehicles coming off the production line (in November 1958).

Since then the Crewcab or (Doppekabine as many of us prefer to call it) has proven to be a very able and popular workhorse.

To celebrate this fact we are aiming to get the biggest gathering of crewcabs together that have been seen for many years (ever?).

The target is to get (at least) 50 of these fabulous vehicles together in one place for a special line up on the Saturday in the main arena at Vanfest.

We would like a selection from each generation (especially T25's) to be in the display and will also feature a line up of Crewcabs along with our other themes in our display hall throughout the weekend.

The diversity of these vehicles, many of whom have been seen individually at Vanfest over the years should make this a very interesting display to be seen (and to be part of) :D

We will still be presenting several other vehicle displays;

Well Travelled Transporters
Alternative ENGINES
Commercial Vehicle display
California Display.

If you would like to take part in this display or any of the others we have planned for this years VANFEST (or know someone who does) please reply on/to:

display@vanfest.org or contact 07500080678

Re: Vanfest DOKA Display

Post by SYMCRO »

Thats a great start guys.

There should/will be a very good showing from the Syncro DOKA fans.

We have a nice Red DOKA, which now is back in service doing its bit (and earning its keep) as a fully functional & working Fire engine at events. (Its now got the same wheels & will soon have same hardtop as yours Jed - it carries a bit more plumbing though)

I'm sure there must be quite a few other Doka workhorses still out there.

I'm looking forward to putting this display together, I'm sure it is going to be a good one. (may also get some input from VW into this display).

VANFEST - CALLING ALL CREWCABS UPDATE

Post by SYMCRO »

Things are going pretty good so far 16 DOKAs (potentially) booked in so far. :D

Still a long way to get to the target 50 & we could certainly do with a lot more Bays & Split Screens to balance up the T25's. :)

So far there it looks as if there will be at least 2 tristars and 2 Syncro DOKA fire trucks amongst the dozen or so T25's showing an interest :D

So come on you (other) DOKA's make yourself known (and seen) at this years Vanfest.

We are having trouble finding anyone with a T5 crewcab. Not even VW have one of those in their promo fleet.

Some of the vehicles we do have in the display (and ones likely to join in once the word gets to our continental friends) will make this display a very special & memorable one.

:ok
