Gas woes

I have just bought a 86 joker from Germany - it has no underslung gas tank. I have tried to fit a hose to the fridge but the screw-in connecter on the fridge doesnt seem to fit any of the connecters that are avaliable in the camping accessory shops - 1/4 seems the closest but the threads dont match.

Any ideas?
