I constantly see people wanting to know if the 1.9 carb on these transporters can be refurbed, well heres a guy who does it for some beer money..

Well in the 17 years hes been restoring VW's he hasnt learnt that the pierburg was only ever fitted to the 1.9....... never to a 2.1 or even a 2.4???? not in a transporter..... maybe in early LT's.......

My 2.1 has one fitted too.. and a soon to be 2.2 and a bit later a 2.5 (but that aint gonna work very well!!!!!! so that will get something else I am working on... :wink:

Thanks Migs for your contribution to this informative thread, but I think you will find Gasure tend to service 'Aircooled' carbs rather than the ones fitted to the 1.9 Wasserboxer.
