Loose Electrical Connection . . . somewhere

Post by grenjs »

Sometimes the strip light in the back of the Westfalia fails to come on.

I've found if I go to the vehicle fuse box (located just under the steering wheel) and tap it with my hand, the light comes to life. Obviously I have a loose connection in there.....somewhere.

The back of this fuse box is jammed packed with wires. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly where the Westfalia live feed is connected on it so I can concentrate on those wires alone and without disturbing the rest.

I've looked in the manuals, but can't find anything. Also I don't understand these new fan-dangled new block diagrams either! So any help greatly appreciated.

TIA.

grenjs,

Could you not remove-replace the fuses one at a time (With the light working of course) until you find the circuit the light is on and then you will narrow the possibilities.

Standard interior lights up to 1985 fuse 8 (8 Amps)
1986 on fuse 3 (15 Amps)

I do not have a Westy 25 just a Westy Bay.
