Dizzy's....Does a 1900 work ok on a 2.1?

Post by KarlT »

Hi All.

Bought a rotor arm for my 2.1 DJ from JKampers. Turned up next day but wouldn't fit! :? Phoned JK ''you sent me wrong part, the hole is too small to fit on dizzy shaft'' JK check ''No thats the right one you must have a 1900 dizzy fitted to your 2.1'' :?

Can this be? Who's right? Can the 1900 (if that's what it is) run the 2.1 correctly?

:?

I thinkl they may have sent you rotor arm for 2.1 MV, I think the others are the same, but I can't check as I don't have a 1.9 to hand.

Just Kampers did the exact same thing to me. The rotor arm hole was far to large (I have a MV Motor and dizzy). The MV rotor arm had a much smaller hole.

Got mine from GSF in the end. At least they knew the difference between the two arms.

Watch the latest JK thermostats too ... the sprung lower section is too long .... as you fit the top section it's really tightly preloaded ... uncomfortably so in my opinion. Mine's going back anyway :? 0

What is it with Just Kampers, they have such an opportunity to really help out the beleaguered T3 community, but so often give poor service.

I had a 2006 catalogue last year, and from it ordered what I thought was a top up bottle for the coolant, when it arrived it was the expansion bottle. I phoned them up, and they stated that the 2006 catalogue was misprinted, and that I should have had a 2007 one or used the Internet, where it is correct. They refused to accept there mistake, and did not want to exchange it, blaming me for having a year out of date catalgue. I ended up speaking to Mark Reynolds, after about 4 others, who grudgingly stated they would refund my postage. But by that time I was so fed up with them that I went and bought a genuine VW one, which was cheaper anyway. Just left a bad taste in my mouth, perhaps they feel like they have got us all hook-line and sinker, so don't have to try hard, or their expanding leisure range from the Reimo catalogue is more profitable. Unfortunately JK are in the best position to get re-made obsolete parts, but they don't seem to feel like doing it, profits first I suppose.
