pipe coming from blue darlek cap????

eyup ducks,ive now got a petrol header tank modified and fitted with a rather fancy bracket!!!,now i just cant seem to find a way to unscrew the cap for topping up when bleeding without taking the pipe off the cap.........do i need to put in a new pipe thats a lot longer ?.....bit baffling folks...........all tips greatfully recieved

the pipe should just push onto dalek.and you just pull it off to unscrew it....
