Is a replacement glass available? So far I can only find whole mirrors listed, and none of them are convex. The flat glass doesn't give a good enough view.

Door mirror glass?
The other morning some dickhead in a LandRover decided he had as much right to pass parked cars in the opposite direction as I did to carry on in a straight line. While I remained on the road, I did get near enough to the kerb for a tree which leans into the road at that point to clip my nearside door mirror, smashing the glass. I wasn't happy.

The standard crappy mirrors are a single unit I think so unless you are happy putting one of them halfords bodge sticker glasses over the smashed bit you'll have to unbolt the hole lot from the door and get the lot replaced. I think there are cheep patern ones avalable which are "pooh", so try VW. I know the drivers one on mine worked fine, had a resionable view angle and stayed put, the other had a pathetic narrow view, and blew about in the wind - didn't look quite the same eather, and was sitting on a rubish gasget, I smell a poor quality pattern part - you don't want one of them!

Are they convex? My van came fitted with convex on the nearside, which is the one I've broken, and a nearside flat one fitted to the offside (tipped 90 degrees), which I've switched to the nearside, but discovered I can't see enough out of it.
My temporary offside replacement if off a Mini! With a small fabricated adapter plate - it was the only one in my shed I could make fit easily. Looks a bit odd but at least I can see with it.
