Removal of rear wheel arch?

Post by Mark Foss »

Hello!

Just wondering if anyone has any pics or advice on removal of the rear wheel arche panel, not the whole side just the small one with the seam running around it?

Tis the worst panel on the van and would tidy it up no end and would i have to remove interior to weld it?

Any advice/pics appreciated.

Fossie :)

not got pics, but the whole panel makes up part of the inner part of the wheel arch, the worst part is removing the under seal in the arch to get a clear view of whats going on, i use a wire wheel on a grinder, mask and patience are essential.

if its not gone inside then ive found the best and easiest way is to cut out and make the piece you need, the big panel with the pressed seam is good if its gone above and below the seam, but this wont cover any rot on the inner wheel arch.

hope this makes scence, id go for just cutting out the worst bits if only a small amount is rotten

Hiya Dug!

Yea that all makes sence, i will look into removing the damaged bottom 5 inches or so as the top of the arch is solid.

Cheers Mark
