Lights, Grills and Wheels

Post by in_the_garage »

Hello,

I'm looking for a set of 16" alloys to fit on my '88 caravelle, which is currently having a 1.9TD transplanted out of a Golf into it, after my old flat four went bang. I'm a bit worried about the gear ratio on the new engine with the standard 14" wheels, but I don't know what will fit - there's a set of Audi A3 alloys on ebay (for example), but I'm not too sure how easy boring out the centre will be (or what PCD actually means...)

Also, I'm looking around for a four light front grill, but if anybody knows where I can get one for less money than JK want to charge, that would be great :) Alternatively, does anybody know where I can get an A-bar like on the front of this? Again, I've been looking around, but I can't find anything...

Any help will be much appreciated,

Thanks,

Paul

PCD must be 112

Alloys will need longer studs

ET must be between 39 and 30
any higher and you need spacers.

The gearing will be fine if you stay with the Specified overall circumference.

I have 16" merc ML's on mine fitted with a 215/60X16 tyre
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)

Pretty sure A3 will be 100mm PCD so wont fit..

prob find the gearing ok as the wbx have taller gearing generally than the TD versions
